If you've just started thinking about buying your first motorhome or caravan, you're probably also thinking about where you might go and what you might do too. There are thousands of places to stay all over UK, Ireland and Europe, with huge variations in location, facilities and price.
There are large sites with entertainment, swimming pools and activities, others with pitches nestling in woods or close to the sea, or tiny sites off the beaten track which offer total tranquility. Some are geared up for families with play areas, laundry rooms and baby changing facilities, many have special pitches or equipment for disabled customers, others may restrict their intake to adults only.
When you're just starting out, it helps to have confidence that your destination pitch will be what you expect, so that you can get the maximum enjoyment from your early caravanning/motorhoming experience. We believe that if you enjoy your first few caravan or motorhome holidays, you might tell your friends what a great time you had and maybe, they will visit us too.
This is why we recommend joining The Caravan Club. For an initial investment of just £42, membership gives you access to a site network of around 3,000 locations, including approximately 200 'Club Sites' which are maintained to a very high standard. Every Club Site pitch has adequate space and most will have 230v electric hookup and a hard standing surface. The majority of Club sites have wardens who look after the site and their customers during their stay. The Club Site network extends the length and breadth of the UK, from Penzance in Cornwall to Thurso in Scotland.
Add to these the network of over 2,000 'Certificated Locations'; these are members-only hideaway sites, often on farms or smallholdings, with a maximum of 5 pitches. Facilities vary, but all must adhere to minimum standards including access to water and a chemical toilet disposal point. Many Club members find their favourite holiday places by chance, having looked in The Caravan Club's Sites Directory in the area they are visiting and trying the local Certificated Location out. It's a wonderful way of discovering some of the most beautiful places away from the major tourist destinations and routes.
By joining the Caravan Club, you can be assured of consistent organisation and cleanliness standards on Club sites and have access to vast number of other locations, who have signed up to the Caravan Club's Certificated Locations scheme. The Club website has a fully integrated online booking service too, where you can search for sites by name or location.
Included in your membership is the Club's monthly magazine, containing product and site reviews, towcar tests, technical articles and more. The Club also runs Caravan and Motorhome Manouvering Courses in various locations.
For a small annual investment, The Caravan Club offers an incredible variety of holiday destinations at home and abroad - 375,000 members can't be wrong.
