Lowdhams Charity Cycle Challenge

The 120 mile fundraising cycle ride follows a challenging route around the western edge of the Peak District between our Gunthorpe and Huddersfield branches, taking in Nottingham, Derby, Ashbourne, Buxton, Glossop and Holmfirth. Two cycling teams (one at each branch) will leave at exactly the same time on Sunday 8th August and meet at the overnight stop near Buxton, before continuing on to the other teams' branch the next day.

The teams are as follows:- Nottingham, Claire Wong, Steve Sharpe, Charlie Sharpe & Mark Mellors as support driver. Huddersfield, Michael Smith, Ben Parkin, Dave Bradford & Roger Hardy as support driver. Chris Gage, who came up with the mad idea, was due to ride but has a back injury & will not be able to take part, but is committed to doing the ride at a later date.
None of the riders are serious cyclists so this is a massive challenge; one they are determined to conquer in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, which provides practical, medical and financial support to cancer sufferers. It is being supported by Lowdhams, who are providing use of two motorhomes for backup.
The challenge is fast approaching and its a race against time for the teams to fit in as much training as they can prior to the event - a team effort is required for all riders to complete the route and arrive at the other team's branch before close of business on Monday 9th!
